You'll also spend an hour in UNESCO-listed Trogir. On a private boat, you decide how much time to spend in the lagoon or in town.

Hvar & the Pakleni Islands (full day)

This is the best way to experience Croatia's most famous island. The speedboat ride takes about 55 minutes, giving you a full day to explore Hvar Town, the Spanish Fortress, and the real highlight: the hidden bays of the Pakleni archipelago. You can even ask your skipper to stop for lunch at a beach club on Palmižana. On a private boat, that's an option, not a detour.

Brač: Bol, Supetar & Milna (half day)

Brač is the closest large island to Split and is home to Zlatni Rat, the horn-shaped beach seen on many Croatian postcards. A private route can include Bol, the sheltered harbor of Milna, or a quiet cove on the north coast. This is our most swim-focused route and a favorite with families.

On a group tour, this is a tightly scheduled 10-hour day. On a private boat, you can skip the cave queue logistics that your skipper can't control, but you decide everything else, including enjoying a long lunch in Komiža, which group tours don't allow.

Šolta and the nearby coves (half day)

This is the most underrated route on our list. Šolta is just across the channel from Split, so you spend less time traveling and more time anchored in quiet bays. Add a konoba lunch in Maslinica or Stomorska, and you have the most relaxed day at sea that central Dalmatia can offer.

There isn't a single set price, and any agency that gives you one without asking questions is just guessing. The cost depends on four things: the boat (size and comfort level), the route (fuel is the biggest variable, so Vis costs more to reach than Šolta), the duration, and the season.

What we can promise is how pricing works with us:

When to go and when to book

The private boat season in Split lasts from spring through late October. June and September are the best months, with warm sea temperatures (22 to 26 °C), long days, and fewer boats in the coves. July and August have the warmest water and the busiest bays, which is when the early-departure advantage of a private boat matters most.
